More than movement, it's a way of life
At Tekio Kenpo Academy, we believe martial arts is more than movement — it’s a way of thinking, growing, and showing up in the world with confidence. Founded by Sensei Ty Davis, a 5th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo Karate, Tekio was built around one guiding idea: adaptation. The name Tekio means Adaptive Method, and that philosophy shapes everything we do — how we teach, how we train, and how we support our students.

Our story
Sensei Ty began his martial arts journey at age eight, starting with Kung Fu before discovering American Kenpo at eighteen. Over decades of training in Kenpo, kickboxing, boxing, Kali, Judo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he developed a deep understanding of both combat skill and human growth. Since beginning to teach in 2000, his mission has been consistent: help people become stronger, more disciplined, and more confident versions of themselves.

Transforming lives
Tekio Kenpo Academy helps students transform from uncertain to unstoppable. A shy child learns discipline and confidence through structured training, standing taller in school and at home. An adult who felt stressed and stuck discovers focus, strength, and control through Kenpo and kickboxing, gaining fitness, self-respect, and the courage to take on challenges beyond the mat. At Tekio, training builds not just skill — it builds belief in oneself.

Why Tekio stands out
Tekio Kenpo Academy isn’t just another place to punch and kick — it’s a community that builds real-world ability, confidence, and adaptability. Unlike many programs that focus strictly on drills or fitness, Tekio blends authentic American Kenpo Karate with kickboxing, self-defense, and tailored personal training so students grow physically, mentally, and personally.
"I can't say enough about the positive impact Tekio has had on my child. The instructors are amazing, and the community is so supportive!"
